HealthyLivYing: The Salad Artist

Now that’s a pretty good positioning, isn’t?

It’s a pretty good start landing a job in an industry where my interest lies: food! Moreso, healthy food.

Today I took pictures of the salads I make everday to show my family back home and then I decided, why not write about it and share my life as a salad artist. So here goes…

I get to work at 7:00AM, open the store and turn the machines on. I get inside the kitchen and sanitize the premises before I start handling food (THAT IS A MUST!)

I start working with the rolls (and at the same time prepare the ingredients for the Crunchy Asian Green Salad).

This is how the rolls look like when I’m done.

Then I prepare what we call the CDS or the pasta salads. These ones are made by the head office.

The next ones are called the leafy salads for the main reason that they have leaves in them (like duh!).

Crunchy Asian Greens

Teriyaki Marinated Chicken

Detox Chicken and Chia Seed

Free Range Chicken and Avocado

Southern Style Free Range Chicken

Pepper Smoked Salmon Caesar

Pesto Chicken and Avocado

Sweet Roasted Pumpkin and Beetroot

As I make all these salads, I also prepare the ingredients of my main station which is the MTO station or the made to order salad station. Here we make the salads while you wait.  

I finish all these by 11:00AM which gives me enough time to clean the kitchen and refill the dressings before it hits 12:00 noon where it gets all busy.
