First Time Baking: Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chips Protein Cookies

Jullius has been telling me to make protein cookies (or any pastry we can include protein powder into) so that we have something else to munch on after working out aside from just drinking protein shake.

Just recently, while I was cleaning out the pantry, I thought of finally making them. I checked online for a video I can copy and I saw this.

After cross checking the ingredients from the video and what we have at home (and buying just a few more), I’m finally ready.

I woke up early this morning and got started. I prepped all the ingredients on the counter.

Combine all the wet ones (not including the peanut butter yet) in one bowl and the dry ingredients in another bowl. By the way, I used Cranberry and Apple Sauce instead of just apple sauce.

For the peanut butter, what I did was I scooped 13 table spoons of peanut butter into a glass measuring cup and melted it for 2 minutes in the microwave.

Add the peanut butter in the ‘wet’ bowl and mix using an electronic mixer. Slowly pour in the dry ingredients.

My mixture seemed to be a little too wet so I added more oats.

After that, I started scooping them to a muffin tray (make sure you spray the tray with oil) then top with chocolate chips.

The guy from said to pre-heat the oven and bake the cookies at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Our oven cooks at 250 max so I decided to bake it just a little bit longer.

I probably cooked a little bit too long. 😁😔😂

Mum, Dad, and Jullius tried it and said it’s just okay.

My personal verdict: FAILED!

First of all coz I burnt some. Second, they didn’t even turn out to be cookies! 😂 They’re like this bread we call back in Phils as ‘Kabayan’.

Oh well, it was my first time baking. A for effort. Lol! 😜

They don’t look burnt, don’t they? They’re just like chocolate muffins minus the muffin cups. In denial 😂😄
