Attempt to Clean Eating Day 1: Preparing Hunny’s Baon

We’ve been going to the gym regularly but we need heaps of working it out in the kitchen. We eat a lot outside during date nights and sometimes we even order Korean Barbecue sets for four! Uh! What a waste of gym time. 😣

Yesterday while he was at work, I decided to prepare his lunch and dinner for today. I wanted to surprise him (and maybe because he kept blaming me for eating too much). Here’s what I had in mind.

Brown Rice and Quinoa, Stir-Fry Chicken, and Blanched Broccoli

First I cooked 2 cups of brown rice and half a cup of quinoa.

I let it cool down for a bit and then scooped it into two containers.

For the chicken, I used half a breast fillet cut into small pieces and marinated it in oyster sauce, half a lemon, pepper, salt, and lots of cayenne pepper (coz he likes his food a lil spicy). Garlic, half of a white onion, capsicum.

Sauté garlic and onion in extra virgin olive oil.

When the garlic is a little brown and the onion a little transparent, you can already add the marinated chicken.

I used a little bit of Flavor God’s Lemon and Garlic Seasoning.

Let the chicken simmer for a few minutes. Add the capsicum when it turns a little brown.

For greens, I blanched sliced broccolis for about 10 minutes. Added it into the container.

For his dessert, fresh strawberries.

Voila! It’s done!

For my part, I ate brown rice (instead of our usual basmati rice) and Mum’s delish ginisang monggo. 😋
